  1. Day 1: South Goa beaches and Old Goa churches
1 hour 20 minutes (32 miles) from Goa International Airport

In the morning, head to Palolem Beach and enjoy its beautiful crescent-shaped coastline while sipping fresh coconut water. Then, take a bus to Old Goa to explore the UNESCO-listed churches and cathedrals from the Portuguese era. In the afternoon, take a 30-minute bus ride to Benaulim Beach, one of the less crowded beaches in South Goa. Spend some time swimming, sunbathing, and playing beach volleyball. In the evening, go to Colva Beach and watch the sunset while enjoying a local snack, choris pao, a Goan sausage sandwich.

  2. Day 2: Panaji city and Divar Island
40 minutes (11 miles) from Colva Beach

In the morning, take a bus to Panaji and wander through Fontainhas, the Latin Quarter of the city, with its colorful houses, art galleries, and bakeries. Then, visit the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, a 16th-century church that dominates the cityscape. In the afternoon, take a ferry from Ribandar to Divar Island, a peaceful retreat with scenic countryside, traditional houses, and a 17th-century church. Explore the island on foot or rent a bicycle. In the evening, take the ferry back to Ribandar and enjoy a seafood dinner at Ritz Classic, a local institution that serves delicious fish thali.

  3. Day 3: Dudhsagar waterfall and spice plantation
2 hours (43 miles) from Ribandar Ferry Wharf

In the morning, take a bus to Kulem and hike to Dudhsagar waterfall, one of the highest waterfalls in India, surrounded by lush forest and monkeys. Take a refreshing bath in the natural pool and have a picnic with snacks you brought in your backpack. In the afternoon, visit a spice plantation nearby, such as Sahakari Spice Farm or Pascoal Spice Village, and learn about the cultivation and processing of various spices, fruits, and herbs. Taste some local dishes prepared with fresh spices and buy some souvenirs. In the evening, take the bus back to your hotel and rest after a full day of adventure.

Recommendations:

Goa has many other charming places to visit, such as the Aguada Fort, the Anjuna Flea Market, the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, and the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. You can also take a day trip to the nearby town of Mapusa and explore its colorful bazaars and temples. For a unique experience, try the local drink feni, made from fermented cashew or coconut juice, and watch a traditional dance performance, such as the Dekhni or the Fugdi. To maximize your fun, use public transportation, such as buses, ferries, and taxis, which are cheap and efficient, and interact with the locals, who are friendly and hospitable. Finally, don't forget to pack sunscreen, insect repellent, and comfortable shoes, and book your accommodations and flights in advance through Tripadvisor.
