  1. Day 1: Rumtek Monastery

Spend the afternoon exploring the Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, which is dedicated to an Indian army soldier who died near the pass. In the evening, return to Gangtok and explore the local markets.

  3. Day 3: Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

    Take a scenic drive to Darjeeling and experience the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, also known as the toy train.   4. Day 4: Tiger Hill
    1 hour (11 miles) from Darjeeling

    Wake up early in the morning and head to Tiger Hill to witness the sunrise over the Himalayan range. The view from the hill is mesmerizing, and the changing colors of the sky are a treat to watch. After breakfast, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Darjeeling Peace Pagoda, which are located nearby. In the evening, visit the Ghum Monastery, which is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Darjeeling.

  5. Day 5: Happy Valley Tea Estate
    20 minutes (2 miles) from Darjeeling

    Visit the Happy Valley Tea Estate, which is one of the oldest and most famous tea estates in Darjeeling. Take a tour of the tea factory and learn about the tea-making process. Afternoon, visit the St. Andrew's Church, which is a beautiful colonial-era church. In the evening, take a leisurely walk around the Darjeeling Observatory Hill, which offers stunning views of the Kanchenjunga peak.

Recommendations

If you have time, you can also visit the Tsomgo Lake, which is a glacial lake located near Nathula Pass. The lake is known for its crystal-clear waters and serene surroundings. Another side trip you can consider is the Kalimpong town, which is located near Darjeeling and is known for its beautiful gardens and nurseries.
