5-Day Delhi, Rishikesh and Haridwar Family-Friendly Itinerary in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Delhi
    10 minutes (2.2 km) from New Delhi Railway Station

    In the morning, visit the iconic Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about the history of Mughal India.   2. Day 2: Delhi

    In the morning, drive to Rishikesh, a spiritual town situated on the banks of the River Ganges. Visit the famous Triveni Ghat, where the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers meet, and attend the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony. In the afternoon, visit the Beatles Ashram, where the legendary band once stayed and composed some of their music. In the evening, relax by the river and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

  4. Day 4: Haridwar
    1 hour (30 km) from Rishikesh

    Start your day with a visit to Har Ki Pauri, a famous ghat on the River Ganges where the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony takes place. Then, visit the Mansa Devi Temple, a hilltop temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess of wish fulfilment. In the afternoon, visit the Chandi Devi Temple, another hilltop temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Chandi. In the evening, take a dip in the holy waters of the River Ganges.

  5. Day 5: Haridwar
    10 minutes (3 km) from Har Ki Pauri

    In the morning, visit the Rajaji National Park, a beautiful nature reserve located on the outskirts of Haridwar. Take a wildlife safari and spot animals like elephants, tigers, and leopards. In the afternoon, visit the Maya Devi Temple, one of the oldest temples in India dedicated to the Hindu goddess Maya. In the evening, enjoy a scenic boat ride on the River Ganges.
