4-Day Itinerary for Goa in September 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore South Goa
    1 hour 20 minutes (27.7 km) from Goa International Airport

    In the morning, visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest churches in Goa. In the afternoon, head to Palolem Beach for a relaxing swim and to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. As the sun sets, take a boat ride to Butterfly Island and enjoy the stunning views. End the day with a seafood dinner at one of the beach shacks.

  2. Day 2: Old Goa and Panaji
    35 minutes (16.4 km) from South Goa

    Start the day by visiting the Se Cathedral, one of the largest churches in Asia. Then, head to the beautiful church of St. Francis of Assisi and the Archaeological Museum. In the afternoon, explore the charming Latin Quarter of Fontainhas in Panaji, with its colourful houses and quaint cafes. In the evening, take a relaxing sunset cruise along the Mandovi River.

  3. Day 3: Fort Aguada and Anjuna Beach
    30 minutes (16.5 km) from Panaji

    In the morning, visit the 17th-century Fort Aguada, located on a hilltop overlooking the Arabian Sea. Take a guided tour to learn about its history as a Portuguese fort. In the afternoon, head to Anjuna Beach, famous for its Wednesday flea market and hippie culture. Enjoy the beach and try some water sports. In the evening, head to Curlies Shack for some live music and drinks.

  4. Day 4: Dudhsagar Waterfalls and Spice Plantation
    2 hours 10 minutes (64.8 km) from Anjuna Beach

    Start early in the morning for a trek to the stunning Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the highest waterfalls in India. After the trek, head to a nearby spice plantation to learn about the various spices grown in Goa and enjoy a traditional Goan lunch. In the evening, head back to your hotel and relax before your departure.
