4-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary for Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Kedarnath in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Haridwar
    20 minutes (13 km) from Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun

    In the morning, visit the Har Ki Pauri ghat for a dip in the Ganges and witness the daily Ganga Aarti ritual. In the afternoon, explore the ancient Hindu temples of Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi, both situated atop hills with panoramic views of Haridwar. In the evening, take a stroll through the colorful and bustling bazaars of Haridwar, famous for religious artifacts and sweets.

  2. Day 2: Rishikesh
    1 hour (22 km) from Haridwar

    Begin the day with a visit to the Beatles Ashram, where the iconic band members spent time meditating. Continue to the Triveni Ghat for a morning Ganges dip and to witness the Maha Aarti ceremony. Afternoon is reserved for a visit to the Neer Garh Waterfall and a hike through Rajaji National Park. End the day with a peaceful and introspective session of yogic meditation in one of Rishikesh's many yoga ashrams.

  3. Day 3: Kedarnath
    2 hours and 30 minutes (84 km) from Rishikesh

    Take a helicopter ride from Phata to Kedarnath to visit one of the four sacred Char Dhams of Hinduism. After paying respects at the Kedarnath temple, trek to Vasuki Tal Lake for a picnic lunch surrounded by snow-capped mountains and stunning views. Return to Kedarnath before sunset for a mesmerizing view of the Himalayan range. Spend the night in Kedarnath.

  4. Day 4: Return to Rishikesh
    2 hours and 30 minutes (84 km) from Kedarnath

    Begin the day with a morning visit to Shankaracharya Nagar Transcendental Meditation Center to experience the peace and tranquility of the Himalayas. Afterwards, drive back to Rishikesh to stroll through the charming streets of Tapovan and visit Parmarth Niketan, the largest ashram in Rishikesh. In the evening, take a dip in the Ganges and enjoy a peaceful boat ride to witness the Ganga Aarti ceremony from a different perspective.

Aside from the main attractions mentioned, consider visiting the Daksheswara Mahadev Temple and Bharat Mata Mandir in Haridwar, attending a spiritual discourse or music concert in Rishikesh, and taking a day trip to the Rajaji Tiger Reserve or the Vashistha Cave in Uttarkashi.
