5-Day Nature Itinerary: From Delhi to Uttarakhand

  1. Day 1: Rajaji National Park
    4 hours 50 minutes (150 km) from Delhi

    Start your journey from Delhi to Rajaji National Park. Spend your morning exploring the diverse flora and fauna of the park by taking a jeep safari. Have lunch at the park's canteen before you head out to enjoy bird watching and a nature walk in the afternoon. In the evening, you can relax at the park's campsite, enjoy bonfire, and listen to stories from the local forest guards.

  2. Day 2: Mussoorie
    1 hour 20 minutes (40 km) from Rajaji National Park

    Start your day early and head towards the beautiful hill station of Mussoorie. Take a cable car ride to Gun Hill to enjoy a panoramic view of the valley. Visit Kempty Falls in the afternoon and take a dip in the refreshing water. End your day by strolling on the Mall Road, enjoying street food and shopping for souvenirs.

  3. Day 3: Rishikesh
    1 hour 5 minutes (35 km) from Mussoorie

    Drive to Rishikesh, the Yoga capital of the world. Start your day with a riverside yoga session. After breakfast, visit the Lakshman Jhula, a suspension bridge over the Ganges. You can take a dip in the river, indulge in adventure activities like river rafting or bungee jumping, or simply relax at one of the cafes in the area. Attend the famous Ganga Aarti in the evening, which is a beautiful ceremony of worshipping the Ganges River.

  4. Day 4: Nainital
    5 hours 40 minutes (270 km) from Rishikesh

    Start your day early and drive to the serene town of Nainital. Take a boat ride in the Naini Lake and enjoy the picturesque view of the surrounding hills. Visit Naina Devi Temple and Eco Cave Gardens in the afternoon. You can spend your evening shopping for local handicrafts and enjoying a hot cup of tea at any of the lakeside cafes.

  5. Day 5: Jim Corbett National Park
    4 hours 15 minutes (150 km) from Nainital

    Drive to the famous Jim Corbett National Park on your last day. Embark on a morning jeep safari to spot the majestic Bengal tiger and other wildlife. Have breakfast at the park's canteen before you head out for a nature walk. In the evening, you can relax at the campsite and enjoy a bonfire.

If you have extra time, you can also visit the Valley of Flowers National Park in Uttarakhand. You can also take a side trip to Haridwar, which is known for its religious significance and is just an hour's drive from Rishikesh. Make sure to carry comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and insect repellent for your nature walks and safaris. To maximize your fun, you can also plan your trip during the monsoon season (July to September) when the waterfalls are at their best and the greenery is at its peak.
