Recommendations

If you have time, consider taking a side trip to the nearby Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple in Tiruchanoor. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Padmavathi, the consort of Lord Venkateswara. Alternatively, you can explore the Tirumala town and its many shops and eateries. Don't forget to try the famous Laddu, a sweet made from gram flour and jaggery that is offered as prasadam at the Venkateswara Temple. To maximize your fun, plan your visit during the Brahmotsavam festival, a nine-day celebration held every year in September/October. During this time, the temple is decorated with lights and flowers and various cultural events are held.
