Recommendations

Aside from the itinerary, you can also visit the following places:

  • Maya Devi Temple - an ancient temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Maya
  • Shantikunj - a spiritual center for the study of ancient Indian scriptures and yogic practices
  • Neer Garh Waterfall - a scenic waterfall located about 3 miles from Rishikesh

Consider taking a side trip to Rishikesh, located about 30 minutes from Haridwar. It's a popular destination for adventure activities such as white water rafting and bungee jumping. For a more relaxing experience, take a dip in the holy river or visit one of the many ashrams.

To maximize your fun, consider hiring a local guide who can provide you with more information about the places you visit and take you to hidden gems off the beaten path. Don't forget to try the local street food such as chaat and kachori for a taste of authentic Indian cuisine.

Finally, be respectful of local customs and traditions, especially while visiting temples and other holy places.
