Two-Day City Experience Itinerary in Lonavala, Karjat in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Lonavala
    30 minutes (13 miles) from Karjat

    Morning: Start your day with a refreshing hike up the Lohagad Fort and catch the beautiful sunrise and a panoramic view of the valley. Afterward, head to the Bhushi Dam and enjoy the cool water and scenic surroundings. You can also try some local street food like Vada Pav, Bhajiya, and Poha.

    Afternoon: Visit the Karla Caves, a group of Buddhist rock-cut caves dating back to 2nd century BC, and admire the intricate carvings and beautiful architecture. Then head to the Ryewood Park and enjoy a peaceful stroll amidst lush greenery and beautiful flowers.

    Evening: End your day with a visit to Lonavala Lake, where you can take a peaceful boat ride and enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake and surrounding hills.

  2. Day 2: Karjat
    45 minutes (20 miles) from Lonavala

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to Kondana Caves, Buddhist rock-cut caves located in a beautiful natural setting. Afterward, head to the Ulhas Valley, a beautiful valley situated amidst the Sahyadri range.

    Afternoon: Visit the Kothaligad Fort, also known as the Peth Fort, and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding valley. Then head to the Bhivpuri Waterfall and enjoy a refreshing dip in the cool water.

    Evening: End your day with a visit to Morbe Dam, a beautiful spot for bird watching and a peaceful evening picnic.

If you have more time, consider visiting the Rajmachi Fort, which can be reached by trekking through beautiful forests and is perfect for a day trip. You can also visit the Duke's Nose, a famous rock formation that offers a panoramic view of the surrounding hills.
