6-Day Itinerary for Valley of Flowers in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrival in Dehradun
    20 minutes (16.9 km) from Jolly Grant Airport

    In the morning, arrive at the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun and drive to your hotel in Joshimath. Spend the afternoon exploring Joshimath, a picturesque town situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers. In the evening, try local cuisine at a nearby restaurant.

  2. Day 2: Trek to Ghangaria
    4 hours (10 km) from Joshimath

    In the morning, start your trek to Ghangaria, the basecamp for Valley of Flowers. The trail is picturesque and takes approximately 4 hours to complete. After reaching Ghangaria, relax and explore the village. In the evening, enjoy a hot meal at one of the local restaurants.

  3. Day 3: Valley of Flowers
    2 hours (3.5 km) from Ghangaria

    Start early and trek to Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The valley is a carpet of flowers in the monsoon season, with over 300 species of wildflowers. Spend the day exploring the valley and soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. In the evening, trek back to Ghangaria and relax at your hotel.

  4. Day 4: Hemkund Sahib
    6 hours (11 km) from Ghangaria

    In the morning, trek to Hemkund Sahib, a Sikh Gurudwara situated at an altitude of 4,632 meters. The trek is steep and takes approximately 6 hours to complete. The Gurudwara is surrounded by seven peaks and a glacial lake. Relax and meditate at the Gurudwara before trekking back to Ghangaria in the evening.

  5. Day 5: Badrinath
    1 hour (21 km) from Joshimath

    In the morning, drive to Badrinath, a holy town situated on the banks of the Alaknanda river. Visit the Badrinath temple, one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites. Spend the afternoon exploring the town and trying local snacks. In the evening, return to your hotel in Joshimath.

  6. Day 6: Departure from Dehradun
    20 minutes (16.9 km) from Jolly Grant Airport

    Depart from Joshimath to Dehradun in the morning and arrive at the Jolly Grant Airport in time for your flight. We hope you had an unforgettable time in the Valley of Flowers!
