7-Day Adventure Itinerary for Ladakh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Leh
    10 minutes (2.5 km) from Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport

    In the morning, visit the Shanti Stupa for a panoramic view of Leh. In the afternoon, explore the Leh Palace, a former royal palace. In the evening, stroll around the lively Leh Bazaar.

  2. Day 2: Nubra Valley
    4-hour drive (120 km) from Leh

    In the morning, drive to Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. In the afternoon, visit the Diskit Monastery and take a camel ride in the sand dunes of Hunder. Spend the night in a traditional Ladakhi homestay.

  3. Day 3: Pangong Lake
    5-hour drive (160 km) from Nubra Valley

    In the morning, drive to the stunning Pangong Lake, famous for its changing colors. In the afternoon, take a leisurely walk along the lake and enjoy the breathtaking views. Spend the night in a tented camp.

  4. Day 4: Tso Moriri Lake
    7-hour drive (220 km) from Pangong Lake

    In the morning, drive to the lesser-known Tso Moriri Lake, surrounded by the snow-capped mountains of the Changthang plateau. In the afternoon, explore the nearby Korzok Monastery and village. Spend the night in a tented camp.

  5. Day 5: Zanskar Valley
    8-hour drive (260 km) from Tso Moriri Lake

    In the morning, visit the Phugtal Monastery, an isolated monastery built into a cliff. In the afternoon, drive to the Zanskar Valley and explore the Gelugpa Buddhist monastery of Karsha. Spend the night in a traditional Ladakhi homestay.

  6. Day 6: Rafting on Zanskar River
    1-hour drive (40 km) from Zanskar Valley

    In the morning, go rafting on the Zanskar River and experience the thrill of Grade III and IV rapids. In the afternoon, visit the Stongdey Monastery, a 950-year-old monastery perched on a rocky outcrop. Spend the night in a traditional Ladakhi homestay.

  7. Day 7: Hemis National Park
    2-hour drive (50 km) from Zanskar Valley

    In the morning, go for a wildlife safari in the Hemis National Park, home to the endangered snow leopard. In the afternoon, visit the Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. Spend the evening in Leh and enjoy a farewell dinner.
