7-Day Relaxation Itinerary for Sri Lanka in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Colombo
    Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to Colombo (3.3 miles, 15 minutes)

    Arrive in Colombo, check-in at the hotel and relax. In the evening, visit the Gangaramaya Temple, a beautiful Buddhist temple built in a mix of modern and traditional architecture.

  2. Day 2: Bentota

  7. Day 7: Colombo
    Kandy to Colombo (75 miles, 3 hours)

    In the morning, head back to Colombo and explore the city's markets for some souvenir shopping. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum of Colombo to learn about the country's rich history and culture. In the evening, relax at the hotel or visit Independence Square for a peaceful evening stroll.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the Hill Country region for some breathtaking views of tea plantations and mountains. You can also take a side trip to Sigiriya to see the ancient rock fortress and frescoes. Make sure to try some local delicacies such as hoppers, kottu roti, and spicy curries.
