  • Day 1: Arrival at Malé International Airport

  • Day 2: Exploring Malé

    Malé is the capital city of Maldives, known for its vibrant markets, colorful buildings, and historic landmarks. Take a ferry to Malé and explore its highlights, including the Grand Friday Mosque, the Presidential Palace, and the Fish Market.

  • Day 3-4: Diving in Ari Atoll

Transportation:

For transportation within islands, speedboats and seaplanes are commonly used. For transportation between islands, domestic flights are the most efficient option.

The travel time from Malé to Addu Atoll/Gan is around 1 hour by domestic flight, with planes departing every hour. Speedboat and seaplane transfers are arranged by hotels.

The costs for seaplane transfers are usually between $200-500 depending on the distance between your accommodation and Malé International Airport. For domestic flights, there is an additional $15-30 charge for luggage over 20kg.

Useful Tips:

If you have more time, you can add snorkeling trips at Baa Atoll, Island hopping at North Malé Atoll or Watching the bioluminescence in Vaavu Atoll's night.

If you have less time, you can shorten your stay at one of the luxury resorts or skip the day trip to Malé.

Airports:

Maldives has one main international airport - Male International Airport (MLE). It's located in Hulhule Island, just a few minutes by a public ferry or private speedboat from the capital, Malé. Maldives is an archipelago, so there are also domestic airports at Gan, Kaadedhdhoo, Dhaalu and several other islands.
