Exploring Goa in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the Historic Side of Goa
    30 minutes (10 miles) from Dabolim Airport

    In the morning, head to the Se Cathedral - a stunning 16th-century church built in the Portuguese-Gothic style. Next, visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest churches in India. For lunch, head to the nearby Fisherman's Wharf for some delicious seafood. In the afternoon, visit the Fort Aguada, a 17th-century fort with a lighthouse that offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea. Spend the evening at the Anjuna Beach, known for its vibrant nightlife and great food shacks.

  2. Day 2: Beach Hopping and Adventure Sports
    1 hour (20 miles) from Anjuna Beach

    Start the day with a visit to the Calangute Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Goa. Try water sports like parasailing, jet skiing, or banana boat rides. After lunch, head to the Baga Beach, known for its vibrant nightlife and street markets. In the evening, visit the Vagator Beach, where you can watch the sunset and enjoy some live music at one of the beachside bars.

  3. Day 3: Nature and Culture
    1 hour 20 minutes (30 miles) from Vagator Beach

    In the morning, visit the Dudhsagar Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Take a dip in the refreshing pool at the bottom of the waterfall and enjoy the scenic beauty around you. After lunch, head to the Museum of Christian Art, which has a vast collection of artefacts from the Portuguese era. End the day with a visit to the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, where you can spot a variety of bird species in their natural habitat.

If you have time, visit the Fontainhas, a charming neighbourhood with colourful Portuguese-style houses and narrow streets. You can also take a day trip to the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary or the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary to explore the flora and fauna of Goa. Don't forget to try the local cuisine, including the famous fish curry and rice, pork vindaloo, and bebinca - a traditional Goan dessert. To make the most of your trip, plan your itinerary around the festivals and events that take place in Goa, such as the Feast of St. Francis Xavier, the Goa Carnival, and the International Film Festival of India.
