Volunteering Itinerary in Chennai - June 2023

  1. 9:00AM: Besant Nagar Beach Cleanup

    The Banyan is a non-profit organization that works towards the welfare of mentally ill women. Visit their facility and learn about their programs and initiatives. You can also volunteer to spend some time with the women, playing games or just chatting with them.

  3. 2:30PM: Lunch at Rehmat's
    15 minutes (4.1 km) from The Banyan

    Rehmat's is a popular restaurant in the city that serves delicious biryanis, kebabs, and other Mughlai delicacies. Try their famous chicken biryani and end your meal with the rich phirni.

  4. 4:00PM: Visit to The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust
    50 minutes (22.8 km) from Rehmat's

    The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust is a conservation center that houses several species of crocodiles, alligators, and turtles. Take a guided tour of the facility and learn about their conservation efforts. You can also volunteer to help with feeding the crocodiles.

    End your day with some shopping at T Nagar, one of the busiest shopping districts in the city. From traditional silks to trendy clothes, you'll find everything here. Bargain with the street vendors or shop at the high-end stores, the choice is yours.
