3-Day Itinerary for a Resort Stay in Sakleshpura in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Manjarabad Fort
30 minutes (11.5 km) from the resort

The morning is the best time to visit Manjarabad Fort. Built-in 1792 by Tipu Sultan, this star-shaped fort offers a stunning view of the Western Ghats. You can see the sun piercing through the lush green mountains, making it an excellent spot for photography. In the afternoon, head to the Sakaleshpura Railway Station. This station has a beautiful British-era railway bridge that provides an excellent backdrop for pictures. In the evening, you can visit the Hemavathi Nature Park. This park is famous for its herbal garden and a lovely pond where you can take a pedal-boat ride.

  2. Day 2: Bisle View Point
1 hour 10 minutes (35 km) from the resort

Start your day early and drive to the Bisle View Point, which offers a view of three mountain ranges - Kumara Parvatha, Pushpagiri, and Dodda Betta. The Bisle Forest Reserve is home to several species of flora and fauna, and if you're lucky, you may spot a few of them. In the afternoon, visit the Manjehalli Waterfalls. This waterfall is about 20 feet high and offers a spectacular view. In the evening, head back to the resort and relax.

  3. Day 3: Belur and Halebidu Temples
1 hour 40 minutes (52 km) from the resort

On your last day, visit the famous Belur and Halebidu Temples. These temples were built during the Hoysala Dynasty and are known for their intricate carvings and sculptures. The Chennakesava Temple in Belur and the Hoysaleswara Temple in Halebidu are the most famous ones here. In the afternoon, head to the Shettihalli Wildlife Sanctuary, which is about 40 minutes away from the temples. This sanctuary is home to several species of animals, including elephants, leopards, and wild boars. In the evening, head back to the resort and enjoy your last evening there.
