3-Day Itinerary for Chennai in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Marina Beach
    20 minutes (7.8 km) from Chennai International Airport

    Start your day at the iconic Marina Beach, the longest natural beach in India, stretching over 6 km. You can enjoy the sunrise and take a leisurely stroll along the beach or indulge in activities such as horseback riding or beach volleyball. In the afternoon, visit the Government Museum which houses a vast collection of art, archeological findings, and scientific objects. In the evening, take a walk to the lighthouse at the beach and enjoy the sunset.

  2. Day 2: Mahabalipuram
    1 hour 30 minutes (54.6 km) from Marina Beach

    Spend your day exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mahabalipuram which is home to many ancient temples and monuments dating back to the 7th century. The iconic Shore Temple, Five Rathas, and the famous Arjuna's Penance are must-visit attractions. For lunch, head to the nearby Moonrakers Restaurant for some mouth-watering seafood. In the evening, take a walk on the beautiful Mahabalipuram beach and enjoy the cool breeze.

  3. Day 3: Fort St. George and Kapaleeswarar Temple
    30 minutes (9.5 km) from Mahabalipuram

    Start your day by visiting the historic Fort St. George, the first British fortress in India.
