2-day Motorcycle Riding Itinerary in Haveri in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Haveri Fort
    10 minutes (3.2km) from Haveri Bus Stand

    Start off your day by visiting the Haveri Fort, a historical monument built during the reign of the Vijayanagara Empire. Experience the rich history of the fort as you walk along the walls and explore the ancient architecture. In the afternoon, visit the Siddeshwara Temple, a 12th-century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Spend some time admiring the intricate carvings and detailed sculptures. End your day by watching the sunset at the magnificent Ranebennur Blackbuck Sanctuary, home to a variety of animals such as blackbucks, wolves, and hyenas.

  2. Day 2: Shri Hari Mandir and Pandavapura Temple
    20 minutes (10km) from Haveri Fort

    Start your day with a visit to the Shri Hari Mandir, a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Take in the beautiful architecture and peaceful atmosphere of the temple. In the afternoon, visit the Pandavapura Temple, a popular pilgrimage site dedicated to the Pandavas from the epic Mahabharata. End your day by riding to the beautiful Unchalli Falls, located in the dense forests of the Western Ghats. Take a refreshing dip in the cool waters and enjoy the scenic views of the waterfall.

Recommendations

If you have some extra time, consider visiting the Kaginele Kanaka Gurupeetha, a spiritual center dedicated to the 16th-century saint, Kanakadasa. You can also take a side trip to the magnificent Jog Falls, located about 70 km from Haveri. To maximize your fun, try some local delicacies such as Jolada Roti, a bread made from sorghum, and Enne Badnekayi, a spicy eggplant dish. Don't forget to carry plenty of water and sunscreen during your rides.
