Exploring Varindavan in November 2024

  1. Day 1: Shri Banke Bihari Temple
    10 minutes (1.5 km) from your hotel

    Start your day by visiting Shri Banke Bihari Temple, one of the most famous and oldest temples in Varindavan. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and was built in 1864. The morning darshan starts at 7:45 am and lasts for about an hour. It’s a great way to start your day with the blessings of Lord Krishna. In the afternoon, you can explore the nearby markets and try the delicious local food. In the evening, attend the Aarti ceremony at the temple, which starts at 6:45 pm. Don’t forget to take off your shoes before entering the temple.

  2. Day 2: Prem Mandir
    20 minutes (2.5 km) from Shri Banke Bihari Temple

    Visit Prem Mandir, a beautiful temple dedicated to Radha and Krishna. The temple is famous for its stunning architecture and beautiful light and sound show in the evening. The temple opens at 5:30 am, so make sure to start your day early. Spend your morning exploring the temple and learning about the love story of Radha and Krishna. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby ISKCON temple and enjoy a vegetarian lunch at their restaurant. In the evening, attend the light and sound show at Prem Mandir which starts at 7 pm.

  3. Day 3: Yamuna River and Kesi Ghat

    Take a morning walk along the banks of the Yamuna River and visit Kesi Ghat, one of the most famous ghats in Varindavan. It is believed that Lord Krishna used to herd his cows at this ghat. Take a dip in the holy waters of the Yamuna River and seek blessings at the nearby temples. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Radha Raman Temple and enjoy a delicious lunch at their restaurant. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Kesi Ghat, which starts at 6 pm.

If you have extra time, you can visit the famous Krishna Balaram Mandir, which is about 15 minutes (2.4 km) from Prem Mandir. You can also take a side trip to Agra and visit the iconic Taj Mahal, which is about 2 hours (70 km) from Varindavan. Don’t forget to try the famous peda sweets and lassi in Varindavan.
