Two-Day Itinerary for Shirdi in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir
    3 minutes (0.5 km) from Hotel Sai Simran

    Morning: Start your day by visiting the famous Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir, which is the final resting place of Sai Baba, one of the most revered saints in India. It will take you approximately 2 hours to explore the temple and offer your prayers to Sai Baba. Do note that the temple opens at 4 am, so plan your visit accordingly.
    Afternoon: Head to Dwarkamai Mosque, located inside the temple complex, which was once the home of Sai Baba. Here, you can see the preserved items used by Sai Baba, like his cooking utensils, the grinding stone, and the chariot that he used to visit the nearby villages.
    Evening: Spend your evening at the Sai Heritage Village, which is a 20-minute drive from the temple. This village is a perfect place to learn more about Sai Baba's life and teachings. You can also take part in cultural programs, dance performances, and music shows.

  2. Day 2: Shani Shingnapur and Wet n Joy Water Park
    1 hour 45 minutes (75 km) from Hotel Sai Simran

    Morning: Start early and head to Shani Shingnapur, which is a small village located approximately 75 km from Shirdi. Here, you can visit the famous Shani temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shani, the son of Lord Surya. According to the popular belief, Lord Shani is the god of justice and can bring good fortune to his devotees.
    Afternoon: Drive back to Shirdi and visit the Dwarkamai Masjid, which is a mosque located in the temple complex. This mosque was once the home of Sai Baba and is one of the most visited attractions in Shirdi. You can spend 1-2 hours here exploring the mosque and learning more about Sai Baba's life.
    Evening: End your trip to Shirdi with a visit to the Wet n Joy Water Park, which offers a range of water slides and rides. The park is a 10-minute drive from the temple complex and is perfect for spending a fun-filled evening with your friends and family.

Recommendations

Apart from the above itinerary, you can also consider visiting the Khandoba Temple, which is located approximately 15 km from Shirdi. This temple is dedicated to Lord Khandoba, who is considered to be the god of the local shepherd community.
If you have more time, you can also plan a day trip to the nearby tourist destinations like Nashik or Aurangabad. Nashik is famous for its vineyards and the Trimbakeshwar Temple, which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Aurangabad is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Ellora Caves and the Ajanta Caves.
