3-Day Adventure Itinerary for Haridwar and Rishikesh - June 2023

  1. Day 1: Haridwar
    Starting Point: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun
    Time and Distance: 1 hour 20 minutes (28 miles)

    Morning: Start your adventure with a dip in the holy Ganges at Har Ki Pauri Ghat, one of the most famous and sacred ghats in India. You can also attend the morning Aarti ceremony here, where Hindu priests perform prayers with fire lamps and flowers.
    Afternoon: Adventure seekers can enjoy a thrilling experience of white water rafting on the Ganges. Rishikesh is known for its rapids, and you can book a guided tour through various tour operators.
    Evening: End your day with a visit to the Chandi Devi Temple, located on top of the Neel Parvat hill. You can reach the temple via a cable car ride, which offers panoramic views of the city.

  2. Day 2: Rishikesh
    Starting Point: Haridwar
    Time and Distance: 1 hour 20 minutes (20 miles)

    Morning: Start your day with a trek to the iconic Lakshman Jhula, a suspension bridge that connects two villages. You can also explore the local markets and cafes in the area.
    Afternoon: Next, visit the Beatles Ashram, also known as The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram, where The Beatles stayed in 1968. The ashram is now abandoned, but you can see the graffiti and wall paintings left behind by visitors.
    Evening: End your day with a visit to Triveni Ghat to witness the evening Aarti ceremony, where priests perform prayers with fire lamps and flowers.

  3. Day 3: Neer Garh Waterfall
    Starting Point: Rishikesh
    Time and Distance: 45 minutes (9 miles)

    Morning: Start your day with a hike to Neer Garh Waterfall, located in the Neer Garh Village. The hike is 2 km long and takes around 30 minutes, but the view of the waterfall is worth it.
    Afternoon: After the hike, you can head to Jumpin Heights in Mohan Chatti, one of India's highest bungee jumping sites. They offer various adventure activities like flying fox, giant swing and more.
    Evening: End your day with a visit to Parmarth Niketan Ashram, located on the banks of the Ganges. You can attend the evening Aarti ceremony here, which is a beautiful and peaceful experience.
