4-Day Foodie Itinerary for Goa in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Explore the Local Cuisine
    30 minutes (8.6 miles) from Dabolim Airport

    In the morning, head to Mapusa Market, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Goa, to experience the local food culture. Sample traditional Goan snacks like samosas, bhajiyas, and vadas. In the afternoon, visit Gunpowder Restaurant in Assagao for some mouth-watering traditional Goan food. Try the pork sorpotel, fish curry rice, and the bebinca dessert. In the evening, visit Thirsty Bear in Candolim for their delicious cocktails and seafood.

  2. Day 2: Wine and Dine
    20 minutes (6 miles) from Candolim

    Start your day with breakfast at Cafe Al Fresco in Panaji. Try the local delicacy, poie bhaji, and wash it down with some hot chai. In the afternoon, visit the popular wine estate, Sula Vineyards, in Nashik. Take a tour of the vineyards and sample some of their best wines. End the day at Vinayak Family Restaurant in Calangute for their authentic Goan fish thali.

  3. Day 3: Street Food and Spice Plantations
    30 minutes (9.5 miles) from Calangute

    In the morning, head to Anjuna Beach to try some delicious street food like pav bhaji, fish fry, and chicken 65. In the afternoon, visit the Sahakari Spice Farm in Ponda to learn about the different spices used in Goan cuisine. Take a guided tour of the plantation and enjoy a traditional Goan meal. End the day at Ritz Classic in Panaji for their famous fish thali.

  4. Day 4: Seafood Galore
    40 minutes (13.8 miles) from Ponda

    Start your day with breakfast at Cafe Sussegado Souza in Calangute. Try the Goan sausage and egg sandwich with some fresh fruit juice. In the afternoon, visit Britto's in Baga Beach for their delicious seafood platter. End the day at Martin's Corner in Betalbatim for their signature dishes like prawn curry and pork vindaloo.

Recommendations

Make sure to try the Goan pork sausages and the cashew feni. For a side trip, visit the Dudhsagar Waterfalls or the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. To maximize your fun, take a sunset cruise along the Mandovi River or visit the Saturday Night Market in Arpora. Don't forget to try the local sweets like bebinca, dodol, and serradura for dessert.
