Four Days Itinerary from Delhi to Kedarnath in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar
    5 hours (150 km) from Delhi

    Start your journey early in the morning from Delhi to reach Haridwar by noon. Take a dip in the holy Ganges at Har Ki Pauri and visit Mansa Devi Temple and Chandi Devi Temple via cable car. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti, a spiritual ritual on the banks of the river Ganges.

  2. Day 2: Haridwar to Guptkashi
    7 hours (219 km) from Haridwar

    Start your day early and drive to Guptkashi. En route, visit Devprayag to see the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers and Rudraprayag to see the confluence of Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers. Later, visit the famous Triyuginarayan Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In the evening, explore the local market and try some authentic Garhwali food.

  3. Day 3: Guptkashi to Kedarnath
    1 hour (34 km) from Guptkashi

    Early in the morning, drive to Gaurikund, which is the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. It's a 14 km trek and could take 6-7 hours to complete. En route, enjoy the stunning Himalayan views and take a dip in the hot water springs at Gaurikund. After reaching Kedarnath, visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and spend the night in a nearby hotel.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath to Delhi
    11 hours (443 km) from Kedarnath

    In the morning, trek back to Gaurikund and drive back to Delhi. On the way, visit the ancient Triyambakeshwar Temple and enjoy the scenic beauty of the route. Reach Delhi by late evening and depart for your next destination.

Recommendations

If you have an extra day, you can visit the nearby hill stations of Mussoorie or Rishikesh. You can also try adventure sports like rafting and bungee jumping in Rishikesh. Do carry warm clothes and raincoats as the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable.
