6-Day Itinerary for Udaipur Jaipur and Jaisalmer in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrival in Udaipur
    25 minutes (14.1 kilometers) from Maharana Pratap Airport

    Begin your day with a visit to the famous City Palace, a stunning blend of Mughal and Rajasthani architecture that is now a museum that houses an impressive collection of artifacts, clothing, and weapons of the royal family. In the afternoon, head over to the Lake Pichola to take a boat ride and enjoy the scenic view of the Jag Mandir Palace. In the evening, visit the Bagore Ki Haveli, a 18th-century mansion that hosts daily cultural shows.

  2. Day 2: Udaipur to Jaipur

    Spend your morning exploring the Saheliyon Ki Bari, an ornamental garden famous for its fountains, marble elephants, and lotus pool.   4. Day 4: Jaipur to Jaisalmer

    Start your day early and drive to Jaisalmer. On arrival, head straight to the Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the narrow lanes, Jain temples, and Havelis inside the fort. In the afternoon, visit the Patwon ki Haveli, the biggest and most elaborate mansion in Jaisalmer that boasts of unique architectural styles. In the evening, enjoy a camel ride at the Sam Sand Dunes and witness the breathtaking sunset.

  5. Day 5: Jaisalmer
    10 minutes (3.1 kilometers) from Jaisalmer Fort

    Start your day with a visit to the Gadisar Lake, a serene place that has numerous temples and shrines around it. Later, visit the Thar Heritage Museum that showcases the culture, history, and lifestyle of Thar Desert. In the evening, visit the Mandir Palace, a beautiful palace that is now converted into a hotel. Enjoy the rooftop restaurant that offers a stunning view of the Jaisalmer Fort and the city.

  6. Day 6: Departure from Jaisalmer
    15 minutes (5.6 kilometers) from Jaisalmer Airport

    Before you leave, visit the Bada Bagh, a garden complex that has a series of royal cenotaphs. Later, stop by the Salim Singh Ki Haveli, a 300-year-old Haveli that is known for its distinctive architecture. Depart for the airport and head back home with beautiful memories of your trip to Rajasthan.

If you have extra time in Jaipur, consider visiting the Nahargarh Fort, located on a hilltop that offers an excellent view of Jaipur. Take a side trip to Pushkar, a quaint town famous for its Brahma Temple and Pushkar Lake.
