Begin your adventure by visiting the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. Built in 1555, this palace is a beautiful blend of traditional Kerala architecture and colonial influences. In the morning, explore the palace's courtyards, gardens and murals depicting Hindu mythology. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Jew Town, where you can shop for spices, antiques, and souvenirs. In the evening, watch the sunset at the nearby Fort Kochi Beach.
Spend your second day of adventure at the Athirappilly Waterfalls. This stunning waterfall is 80 feet high and is surrounded by lush green forests. In the morning, take a nature walk around the falls and enjoy the beautiful scenery. In the afternoon, take a dip in the cool waters of the falls and enjoy a picnic lunch. You can also go trekking in the nearby Sholayar Rainforest. In the evening, return to Kochi and enjoy a seafood dinner at one of the city's many restaurants.
If you have extra time, consider taking a boat ride along the backwaters of Kochi or visit the Hill Palace Museum. For a side trip, you can take a day trip to Munnar, a hill station known for its tea plantations and scenic beauty. To maximize your fun, try some local activities like fishing, bird watching, or attending a Kathakali dance performance. We also recommend visiting the St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India.
