2-Day Chikkamagaluru Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Mullayanagiri Peak
    20 minutes (7.5 miles) from Chikkamagaluru town

    Start your day early and head to Mullayanagiri peak, the highest peak in Karnataka. Enjoy the scenic drive to the top while passing through the lush green forests and coffee plantations. Once at the top, take in the breathtaking panoramic views while sipping on a hot cup of chai. Afterward, hike down to the nearby Shiva temple and take a dip in the holy pond. For lunch, head to Kamat Upachar for some authentic South Indian cuisine. In the evening, visit the Baba Budangiri shrine and offer prayers to the revered saint. End your day with a bonfire and stargazing at your hotel.

  2. Day 2: Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and Hebbe Falls
    1 hour 20 minutes (42 miles) from Chikkamagaluru town

    Start your day by visiting the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, home to a variety of flora and fauna, including elephants, tigers, and leopards. Take a jeep safari to explore the sanctuary and spot some wildlife. Afterward, head to Hebbe Falls for a refreshing dip in the cool waters. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the falls. In the afternoon, visit the nearby tea estate and learn about the history and production of tea. Return to Chikkamagaluru town for some shopping and souvenirs. For dinner, try out the local Malnad cuisine at Siri Cafe.

Be sure to visit the Sri Sharadamba Temple, a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus, and the Kudremukh National Park if you have extra time. For a side trip, take a day trip to Halebidu and Belur, known for their beautiful Hoysala architecture.
