Bangalore to Gokarna Family-Friendly 4-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Bangalore to Mysore

    Morning: Visit the Mysore Palace, the official residence of the former royal family of Mysore. Admire the intricate architecture and learn about the history of the palace.

  2. Day 2: Mysore to Coorg

  3. Day 3: Coorg to Gokarna

    Morning: Head to the Gokarna Beach and relax on the pristine sandy beaches. Take a dip in the clear blue waters or try some beach activities like Jet Skiing, and Banana Boating.
    Afternoon: Visit the Mahabaleshwara Temple, one of the most important temples in Gokarna. It is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva emerged from the ground in the form of a linga.
    Evening: Head to Om Beach and watch the sunset while sipping on fresh coconut water. Om beach is one of the most picturesque beaches in Gokarna.

  4. Day 4: Gokarna to Bangalore
    8 hours (500 km) from Gokarna

    Morning: Head to the Yana Caves and trek through the beautiful scenic forest. Yana caves are known for their unique rock formations, where two massive limestone rocks jut out from the surrounding forest.
    Afternoon: Stop by the Jog Falls, the second-highest plunge waterfall in India. The waterfall is a magnificent sight to behold and you can also take a boat ride to view it from below.
    Evening: Take the overnight journey back to Bangalore.

Recommendations

While in Gokarna, consider taking a side trip to the nearby town of Murudeshwar to see the famous Shiva statue. You can also try some local seafood dishes like prawn curry and fish fry.
