2-Day Chennai Motorcycle Riding Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Marina Beach
    10 minutes (3.4 miles) from Chennai Central Railway Station

    Start your day at Marina Beach, the second-longest urban beach in the world. Feel the sea breeze and watch the sunrise while riding your motorcycle. You can then take a dip in the Bay of Bengal. In the afternoon, visit the Fort St. George Museum and take a tour of the fort, the first British fortress in India. In the evening, head to the Kapaleeswarar Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Witness the evening aarti and enjoy the colorful decorations.

  2. Day 2: Mahabalipuram
    1 hour 30 minutes (53.5 miles) from Chennai

    Ride your motorcycle to Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient temples and monuments. In the morning, visit the Shore Temple, an 8th-century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. You can then explore the Mahabalipuram Beach and relax. In the afternoon, visit the Pancha Rathas, a group of five monolithic temples. In the evening, explore the Krishna's Butterball, a giant balancing rock, and enjoy the sunset at the lighthouse.

You can also visit the Government Museum, the Valluvar Kottam, and the Vivekananda House. For a side trip, head to Pulicat Lake, a bird-watching haven. To maximize your fun, try the local street food, such as idli, dosa, and vada. Don't forget to carry a water bottle and sunscreen.
