Two Days in Tirupathi

If you are visiting Tirupathi for two days, this itinerary will help you to explore some of the most famous temples and landmarks of the city.

  1. Day 1: Sri Venkateswara Temple
    7 minutes (2.3 km) from Tirupathi Bus Stand

    Start your day early by visiting the Sri Venkateswara Temple located on the seventh peak of the Tirumala Hills. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is a major pilgrimage site for Hindus. The temple is open from 2:30 AM to 1:00 AM daily. You can witness the morning rituals, including the Suprabhatham, Thomala Seva, Archana, and Ekanta Seva. Afternoon is a good time to visit the temple museum, which showcases the history and significance of the temple. In the evening, you can attend the most significant ritual of the day, the Ekantha Seva, before returning to your hotel.

  2. Day 2: Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple and Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple

    Start your second day by visiting the Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and located at the foothills of Tirumala. The temple is open from 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM. You can witness the morning rituals, including Abhishekam and Archana, followed by Darshan of Lord Shiva. Later, visit the Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple, located in Srinivasa Mangapuram village, which is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and his consort Goddess Padmavathi. The temple is open from 5:30 AM to 8:30 PM. You can witness the morning rituals, including Abhishekam and Archana, followed by Darshan of Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavathi.

Recommendations

If you have more time, you can also visit the Akasa Ganga waterfalls, about 5 km from the Sri Venkateswara temple. You can also plan a side trip to the Chandragiri Fort, which is about 15 km from the city center. To maximize your fun, you can try some of the local cuisines, such as the famous Laddu, Pongal, and Pulihora.
