Exploring Bhimashankar in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary
    10 minutes (4.2 km) from Bhimashankar Temple

    Morning: Start your day early with a visit to Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary. Witness the beauty of nature as you explore the dense forest filled with exotic flora and fauna. The sanctuary is home to several rare and endangered species like barking deer, giant squirrels, and leopards. Keep your camera handy as you might spot some of the elusive animals in their natural habitat.

    Afternoon: After a morning spent amidst nature, head to the nearby temple complex of Bhimashankar. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. The temple’s architecture is a beautiful blend of ancient and modern styles.
