During the 8-day trip to Zambia, the most efficient and cost-effective mode of transportation will be road travel. Cars can be rented from Lusaka city or Livingstone town. However, it is recommended to hire a local driver who knows the routes and the terrain of the country. Hire costs range between $50-$110 per day, including fuel.
If you have more time, you can take an extra day and visit the Lower Zambezi National Park where you can go canoeing or fishing. There are also cultural tours you can take in the northern parts of the country. If you have less time, it's best to concentrate your adventure on the top two National Parks: Livingstone's Victoria Falls and South Luangwa National Park.
Zambia's primary international airport is the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN), which is located roughly 14 miles northeast of Lusaka's central business district. The second airport is Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (LVI) located in Livingstone is approximately six miles northeast of central Livingstone.
