4-day Adventure Itinerary for Gangtok, Sikkim in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Nathula Pass
    1 hour 30 minutes (30 miles) from Gangtok

    In the morning, head towards Nathula Pass, located on the Indo-China border. It's an adventurous drive with stunning mountain landscapes. Reach Nathula Pass by noon, where you can enjoy the scenic view, take pictures, and shop for souvenirs. In the afternoon, visit Tsomgo Lake, a serene lake surrounded by mountains. Spend the evening exploring the local markets and indulge in delicious Sikkimese cuisine.

  2. Day 2: River Rafting and Paragliding
    1 hour (15 miles) from Gangtok

    Start your day with an adrenaline-packed river rafting experience in the Teesta River. After lunch, drive to Enchey Monastery to enjoy the peace and tranquility. Later, head towards Bulbuley Dara to experience the thrill of paragliding and witness the panoramic views of Gangtok city. End your day with a relaxing stroll at M.G. Marg, the heart of Gangtok city.

  3. Day 3: Yumthang Valley and Zero Point
    6 hours (85 miles) from Gangtok

    Leave early in the morning for a picturesque drive to Yumthang Valley. On the way, visit Singhik View Point, Chungthang Confluence, and Phodong Monastery. Reach Yumthang Valley by noon and enjoy the stunning views of the valley and hot springs. After lunch, drive to Zero Point, the last point accessible by road. Enjoy the snow-covered landscape and return to Lachung for night stay.

  4. Day 4: Kanchenjunga National Park and Trekking
    2 hours 30 minutes (45 miles) from Gangtok

    Drive to Kanchenjunga National Park, home to the third-highest mountain in the world. Start your trekking adventure from Yuksom, the historic capital of Sikkim. Trek through the Rhododendron forests to reach the Tshoka village. After lunch at Tshoka, trek to Dzongri, the base camp for mountaineers. Explore the stunning views of Kanchenjunga, and return to Yuksom by evening. End your day with traditional Sikkimese dinner.

Recommendations

Do not miss an opportunity to visit the Rumtek Monastery, which is the largest monastery in Sikkim. You can also visit Darjeeling, which is only 3 hours from Gangtok. You can also try cable car rides, mountain biking, and rock climbing.
