Transportation

If traveling between islands, you can generally expect to use an airplane or helicopter tour. Rental cars, buses and taxis are other options to get around the islands. It is said that the best way to get around Hawaii is by car, however rental cars can be limited and expensive so it's best to check beforehand. Flying time between islands can take approximately 45-60 minutes.

Airports

The Honolulu airport, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), is the largest airport in Hawaii and is located in Oahu. The Kahului Airport (OGG) is the second largest airport and is located in Maui. The Kona International Airport (KOA) is located in the Big Island. Depending on your final destination, you can land on one of these islands or have a layover before flying to another one. All of the airports are roughly 30 minutes or more away from central locations.
