2-Day Valparai Itinerary in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Valparai Shola Forest
    20 minutes (10.8 kilometers) from Valparai Bus Stand
    Morning

    Start your day with a visit to the Valparai Shola Forest, which is a part of the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary. The serene atmosphere of the forest, the cool breeze, and the chirping of the birds will make you forget all your worries. You can also spot a few animals like elephants, bisons, and tigers if you are lucky. The forest is home to many species of birds, so carry your binoculars and try to spot them. A guide is necessary to explore the forest, so make sure to hire one at the entrance.

    Afternoon

    After the forest visit, head to the Aliyar Dam, which is built on the Aliyar River. The dam is surrounded by hills, and the view is breathtaking. You can also take a boat ride in the reservoir and enjoy the scenic beauty. The dam park has various activities like zipline, rope walk, and ATV rides. You can also have lunch in the park's restaurant.
