2-Day Itinerary for Madikeri in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit Raja's Seat
    5 minutes (1.1 miles) from Madikeri city center

    In the morning, we will visit Raja's Seat, a beautiful garden with stunning views of the valley. This place was once the favourite spot of the Kings of Kodagu who used to watch the sunset here. In the afternoon, we will take a walk around the flower garden and musical fountain. In the evening, we can enjoy the sunset and the beautiful view from the top of the hill.

  2. Day 1: Explore Omkareshwara Temple
    12 minutes (2.5 miles) from Raja's Seat

    In the morning, we will visit the Omkareshwara Temple, a beautiful temple with a mix of Gothic and Islamic architecture. It was built in 1820 by King Lingarajendra II to honour Lord Shiva. In the afternoon, we can explore the nearby streets of Madikeri and try some local food. In the evening, we can go for a peaceful walk around the temple.

  3. Day 2: Trek to Abbey Falls
    40 minutes (6.7 miles) from Madikeri city center

    In the morning, we will go for a trek to Abbey Falls, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by coffee and spice plantations. It is a perfect place for nature lovers and photographers.     In the morning, we will visit Dubare Elephant Camp, a forest camp on the banks of the river Kaveri. It is home to many elephants that are trained by the forest department. In the afternoon, we can enjoy a coracle ride in the river and spot some wildlife. In the evening, we can relax by the riverside and enjoy the view.
