Vienna has an excellent public transportation system, including buses, trams, and the U-Bahn (subway). A single ticket costs €2.40 and is valid for 1 hour, while a 24-hour pass is €8. Travel time between locations on this itinerary ranges from 10-25 minutes.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Belvedere Palace, the Vienna State Opera, or taking a stroll through the Naschmarkt. For less time, consider skipping the Museum Quarter or Schonbrunn Palace, or only visiting one or two museums in the Museum Quarter.
Vienna International Airport (VIE) is located 18 km southeast of the city center. There are several transportation options, including the City Airport Train (CAT) for €12 one-way or €21 return, the S-Bahn (urban railway) for €4.40 one-way, and taxis for around €35-€45. Plan for a 20-30 minute travel time by CAT or S-Bahn and 25-35 minutes by taxi.
