Bali Nature Itinerary - January 2024

  1. Day 1: Bali Bird Park
    30 minutes (10.8 miles) from Ngurah Rai International Airport

    Start your morning surrounded by over 1,000 exotic birds from Indonesia and around the world at Bali Bird Park. Take a guided tour or explore the park on your own. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Bali Zoo, which is home to over 350 animals including Sumatran elephants and Bengal tigers. After dinner, head to the nearby Tegenungan Waterfall to enjoy the stunningly beautiful natural scenery.

  2. Day 2: Bali Botanic Garden
    2 hours (50.2 miles) from Bali Bird Park

    Start your day with a visit to the Bali Botanic Garden, where you'll find a wide range of flora and fauna native to Indonesia. Walk through the many trails and gardens, and take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, head east to visit the Tirta Gangga Water Palace, a beautiful water garden built in 1948 by the late King of Karangasem. End the day at the nearby Pura Lempuyang, one of the oldest and most revered temples in Bali, to enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

  3. Day 3: Mount Batur

    Rise and shine early to climb Mount Batur, an active volcano that offers stunning views of the sunrise over Bali. Take a guided tour or hike on your own, but be sure to dress warmly as it can be chilly at the top. After descending, relax at the nearby hot springs, where you can enjoy a soothing soak in the natural hot waters. End the day with a visit to the beautiful Tegalalang Rice Terrace, where you can take a short hike and enjoy the stunning views of the lush green rice paddies.

  4. Day 4: Bali Marine and Safari Park

    Start your day with a visit to the Bali Marine and Safari Park, where you can see over 100 species of animals including Komodo dragons and orangutans. Take a ride on a safari tram to see the animals up close, or take a guided walking tour. End your day by watching the famous Kecak Fire Dance, a traditional Balinese dance performed by a group of men chanting and moving to the beat of an ancient rhythm.

  5. Day 5: Bali National Park
    3 hours 30 minutes (89.5 miles) from Bali Marine and Safari Park

    On your last day, visit the Bali National Park, home to a range of flora and fauna including Bali's famous monkeys. Take a hike through the park to see the stunning views of the mountains and sea, or take a guided tour to learn more about the park's history and conservation efforts. End your day with a visit to the nearby Lovina Beach, where you can enjoy a stunning sunset and perhaps even spot some dolphins in the sea.

If you have extra time, consider visiting the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan temple or the Sekumpul Waterfall. For a side trip, head to the nearby Gili Islands for some snorkeling and diving.
