In the morning, we'll visit the Tungabhadra Dam, a popular picnic spot with stunning views of the dam and the surrounding hills. After having lunch at one of the many restaurants nearby, we'll take a leisurely boat ride on the dam. In the evening, we'll visit the nearby Anegundi village, which is steeped in history and has several ancient temples to explore.
Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. In the morning, we'll visit the magnificent Virupaksha Temple, followed by a stroll through the Hampi Bazaar. After lunch, we'll explore the iconic stone chariot at the Vijaya Vittala Temple and the Royal Enclosure. In the evening, we'll watch the sunset from the Hemakuta Hill or the Anjaneya Hill.
Badami is known for its cave temples, which are carved out of sandstone cliffs. In the morning, we'll visit the four main cave temples, which are dedicated to Hindu deities and Jain Tirthankaras. After lunch, we'll visit the Badami Fort, which offers panoramic views of the town and the surrounding countryside. In the evening, we'll explore the Agastya Lake and the Bhutanatha Temples.
Pattadakal and Aihole are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and home to several ancient temples and monuments. In the morning, we'll explore the temples in Pattadakal, which are a fusion of North and South Indian architectural styles. After lunch, we'll visit the Durga Temple and other monuments in Aihole. In the evening, we'll return to Siradi.
You may also consider visiting the Kudalasangama, the birthplace of the 12th-century poet and philosopher Basavanna, or the Banashankari Temple, a revered Shakti Peetha. You can also take a guided tour of the Hampi ruins or go on a coracle ride in the Tungabhadra River. If you have time, you can take a side trip to the nearby city of Bijapur, which has several historical monuments and museums.
