3-Day Adventure Itinerary in Samse in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Kudremukh National Park
    1 hour 27 minutes (35.5 miles) from Samse

    Morning: Embark on a trekking adventure in the Kudremukh National Park. The park is home to several peaks, including Kudremukh, which stands tall at 1,894 meters. You'll trek through lush green forests, spot exotic birds, and catch stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

    Afternoon: Take a break and have a picnic lunch by the beautiful Hebbe Falls. The falls, located inside the park, drop from a height of 168 meters and form a small pool at the bottom.

    Evening: Head to the Kalasa Temple, located near the park, and marvel at its unique architecture. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is built with black stone.

  2. Day 2: Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary
    1 hour 32 minutes (44.1 miles) from Kudremukh National Park

    Morning: Go on an early morning safari in the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to a variety of wildlife, including tigers, leopards, elephants, and deer. You'll be able to see these animals up close in their natural habitat.

    Afternoon: Visit the Manikyadhara Falls, located inside the sanctuary. The falls drop from a height of 30 meters and are surrounded by lush green forests.

    Evening: Head to the Bhadra Dam and take a boat ride on the reservoir. The dam is surrounded by beautiful hills and forests, making for a serene and picturesque experience.

  3. Day 3: Mullayanagiri and Baba Budangiri
    1 hour 53 minutes (54.6 miles) from Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary

    Morning: Take a trek to the top of Mullayanagiri, the highest peak in Karnataka. The trek is challenging but rewarding, and you'll be able to catch stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys from the top.

    Afternoon: Visit the Baba Budangiri shrine, located near the peak. The shrine is dedicated to the revered Sufi saint, Baba Budan. You can also try the local coffee, which is grown extensively in the surrounding hills.

    Evening: Head to the Hebbe Falls, located near the shrine, and take a dip in the refreshing waters. The falls drop from a height of 168 meters and are surrounded by dense forests.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Belur and Halebidu temples, two of the most beautiful temples in Karnataka. You can also take a day trip to the charming hill station of Chikmagalur, located just 1 hour from Samse. For a unique experience, try camping in the mountains or going on a river rafting adventure on the Bhadra River.
