Family-Friendly 3-Day Itinerary for Maldives in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Maldives National Museum
    20 minutes (7.4 miles) from Velana International Airport

    In the morning, explore Maldives' rich history at the Maldives National Museum. The museum is housed in the 17th-century former palace of the Maldivian royal family and contains a vast collection of artifacts, including traditional costumes, weapons, and household items. In the afternoon, take a short walk to the nearby Sultan Park and enjoy the greenery and tranquility. In the evening, head to the nearby waterfront and enjoy a seafood dinner at Seagull Cafe.

  2. Day 2: Hulhumalé
    30 minutes (9.9 miles) from Maldives National Museum

    Start your day at Hulhumalé, an artificial island built to address the housing needs of the growing population in Male. In the morning, take a leisurely stroll along the pristine beach, and enjoy the stunning views of the turquoise waters. In the afternoon, head to the Hulhumalé Central Park, the largest park in the Maldives, and have a picnic while enjoying the sea breeze. In the evening, head back to Male and have dinner at Symphony Restaurant.

  3. Day 3: HP Reef and Banana Reef
    45 minutes (13.6 miles) from Hulhumalé

    On your last day, experience the stunning underwater life of the Maldives at the HP Reef and Banana Reef. The reefs are home to a vast number of fish species, including eels, rays, and sharks. In the morning, take a guided snorkeling tour and get up close and personal with the marine life. In the afternoon, take a sunset cruise and enjoy the beautiful views of the Maldivian sunset.
