Four Days in Alleppey, July 2023 Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Explore Alleppey Beach
    10 minutes (3.2 km) from Alleppey Railway Station

    Morning: Start your day by enjoying a scenic walk along Alleppey Beach. The beach is relatively calm and peaceful in the morning. You can watch the fishermen in their boats and enjoy the beautiful sunrise.

    Afternoon: Head to the Sea View Park, a small park perfect for a picnic with family and friends. The park features a children's playground and a beautiful view of the Arabian Sea.

    Evening: Make your way to Vijaya Beach Park to enjoy the sunset. The park offers a variety of attractions including a lighthouse, a musical fountain, and a toy train.

  2. Day 2: Visit Krishnapuram Palace and Museum
    45 minutes (26 km) from Alleppey Beach

    Morning: Head to Krishnapuram Palace and Museum, which was once the residence of the kings of Kayamkulam. The palace has a large pond and beautiful gardens that you can explore.

    Afternoon: Visit the museum, which showcases a variety of artefacts from the palace and surrounding areas. The highlight of the museum is the famous Gajendra Moksha mural painting.

    Evening: End your day at the Oachira Temple, which is about 30 minutes (19 km) from the museum. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its unique rituals and festivals.

  3. Day 3: Explore the Backwaters of Alleppey
    30 minutes (16 km) from Oachira Temple

    Morning: Start your day by renting a houseboat and cruising along the beautiful backwaters of Alleppey. The houseboat provides a comfortable and scenic way to explore the area.

    Afternoon: Enjoy a delicious lunch on the houseboat while taking in the stunning views of the backwaters.

    Evening: Disembark from the houseboat and explore the local villages by foot or bicycle. You can visit the ancient temples, interact with the friendly locals, and shop for souvenirs.

  4. Day 4: Visit Marari Beach and Local Market

Recommendations
