7-Day Itinerary from Bangalore to Kedarnath in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Arrival in Dehradun

    In the morning, arrive in Dehradun and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Mindrolling Monastery for a peaceful experience. In the evening, explore the local markets and try some delicious street food.

  2. Day 2: Rishikesh

    Drive to Rishikesh in the morning and visit the Laxman Jhula. In the afternoon, take a dip in the holy Ganges and attend the Ganga Aarti. In the evening, shop for some handmade souvenirs and try the local cuisine.

  3. Day 3: Guptkashi
    5 hours (130 miles) from Rishikesh

    Drive to Guptkashi in the morning and visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple. In the afternoon, take a scenic trek to the Triyuginarayan Temple and witness the beautiful sunset. In the evening, enjoy a bonfire and indulge in some stargazing.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath

  7. Day 7: Departure from Dehradun

    Drive back to Dehradun in the morning and explore the Robber's Cave. In the afternoon, visit the Forest Research Institute and learn about the flora and fauna of the region. In the evening, depart for the airport and fly back home.

Recommendations

You can also visit the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, Valley of Flowers National Park and Mana Village if you have more time. Side trips to Haridwar and Mussoorie are also worth considering. To maximize your fun, make sure to carry comfortable walking shoes, warm clothes, a raincoat, and some snacks. It is also advisable to carry some cash as ATMs may not be available in remote areas.
