Bangalore to Kedarnath 4-day Itinerary in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Bangalore to Haridwar

    Start your journey from Bangalore to Haridwar. After reaching Haridwar, visit the Mansa Devi Temple in the morning. In the afternoon, visit the Har Ki Pauri Ghat to take a dip in the holy Ganges. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony and witness the mesmerizing sight of lamps floating in the river.

  2. Day 2: Haridwar to Guptkashi

    Leave early from Haridwar to reach Guptkashi, a small town that serves as a base camp for the Kedarnath Yatra. Have breakfast and visit the Triyuginarayan Temple, the place where Lord Shiva and Parvati got married according to Hindu mythology. Take a dip in the hot water springs of Gaurikund in the afternoon. In the evening, explore the local market and savour the local delicacies.

  3. Day 3: Guptkashi to Kedarnath
    6 h 20 min (20.0 km) via NH 109

    Start your trek to Kedarnath early in the morning. The 16 km trek takes around 6-7 hours to complete. You can also hire a pony or a palanquin to reach Kedarnath. Visit the Kedarnath Temple in the afternoon. In the evening, attend the evening aarti and enjoy the serene and peaceful environment of the temple.

  4. Day 4: Kedarnath to Bangalore
    16 h 11 min (680.3 km) via NH 7 and NH 44

    Start your journey back to Bangalore early in the morning. On the way back, visit the Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world. Attend the Ganga Aarti at the Triveni Ghat in the evening. Reach Bangalore by late night.

Recommendations

If you have time, you can also visit the Badrinath Temple, which is located close to Kedarnath. You can also take a dip in the hot water springs of Yamunotri, which is another holy place in Uttarakhand. To maximize your fun, try local street food and shop for souvenirs at the local market. It is recommended to carry warm clothes as the temperature can drop significantly in the night.
