7-Day Nature Itinerary on West Coast in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Hike in Griffith Park
    15 minutes (5.8 miles) from Hollywood

    Begin your trip by exploring the natural beauty of Los Angeles with a morning hike in Griffith Park. Take in the stunning views of the city and the Hollywood sign while enjoying the fresh air. Afterward, head to The Trails Cafe for a light lunch surrounded by nature. Finish the day by watching the sunset at the Griffith Observatory.

  2. Day 2: Joshua Tree National Park
    2 hours 30 minutes (142 miles) from Los Angeles

    Travel to Joshua Tree National Park, where you will find yourself surrounded by the otherworldly beauty of the desert landscape.   5. Day 5: Redwood National and State Parks
    4 hours 50 minutes (266 miles) from Big Sur

    Drive up the coast to Redwood National and State Parks, where you will be in awe of the towering redwood trees. Spend the morning hiking one of the many trails, and take in the peacefulness of the forest. Have a picnic lunch in the park before heading to the beach at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. End the day with a drive through the Avenue of the Giants, a scenic route through the redwoods.

  6. Day 6: Crater Lake National Park

If you have time, consider taking a day trip to Yosemite National Park from Los Angeles or visiting the Olympic National Park from Mount Hood National Forest. To maximize your fun, make sure to pack plenty of snacks and water for your hikes, and dress in layers for changing weather conditions.
