Exploring Chakrata in 3 Days

  1. Day 1: Tiger Falls
    2 hours 30 minutes (70 km) from Dehradun

    Start your day early and head towards Tiger Falls. The scenic drive to the falls is around 3 hours from Delhi. The falls are located in the hilly terrain of Chakrata and require a 1 km trek. The trek is steep, but the sight of the 50 meters cascading falls surrounded by lush greenery is worth it. Spend the afternoon swimming in the natural pool at the base of the falls. Return to your hotel in the evening and enjoy a delicious local meal.

  2. Day 2: Chilmiri Neck
    1 hour 20 minutes (39 km) from Chakrata Market

    Start your day with a visit to Chilmiri Neck, a serene spot located at an elevation of 2,195 meters. The place is named after the lush green Chil and Miri forests surrounding the area. Enjoy a scenic drive through the winding roads of the hills. Once you reach, take a stroll in the lush greenery, enjoy the panoramic view of the Himalayas, and spot some exotic birds. In the afternoon, visit the Kanasar Eco Park, home to some rare Himalayan flora and fauna. End your day with a bonfire and some local snacks.

  3. Day 3: Budher Caves
    1 hour 40 minutes (37 km) from Chakrata Market

    Today, visit the Budher Caves, a natural underground wonder carved out of limestone. The caves are around 150 meters long and require a 1 km trek to reach. The cave has several chambers, and one can see the stalactites and stalagmites formations. The cave is also home to some rare species of bats. After exploring the caves, head towards Moila Top, a scenic picnic spot with a breathtaking view of the Yamuna valley. End your day with some local shopping and a warm dinner.
