Nature Lovers Itinerary for Mysore, Srirangpatan, and Ooty in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Mysore
    10 minutes (2.5 km) from Mysore Airport

    Start your day at the Brindavan Gardens, a beautiful ornamental garden with fountains and a musical fountain show in the evening. After lunch, visit the Mysore Palace, a magnificent palace with a mesmerizing light and sound show in the evening. In the evening, take a stroll around the Karanji Lake, a serene lake surrounded by a nature park.

  2. Day 2: Srirangpatan
    50 minutes (20 km) from Mysore

    Visit the magnificent Ranganathaswamy Temple, one of the largest temples in India. After lunch, explore the Gumbaz Mausoleum, a beautiful domed mausoleum and burial chamber of Tipu Sultan. In the evening, take a relaxing walk around the Daria Daulat Bagh, a beautiful garden built by Tipu Sultan.

  3. Day 3: Mysore to Ooty
    3 hours (126 km) from Mysore

    Start your day early and drive to the Bandipur National Park, a beautiful wildlife sanctuary with a diverse range of flora and fauna. After lunch, head to the Ooty Botanical Gardens, a stunning garden with a variety of flowers, trees and plants. In the evening, take a stroll around the Ooty Lake, a serene lake with boating facilities.

  4. Day 4: Ooty
    10 minutes (2 km) from Ooty Bus Stand

    Visit the Doddabetta Peak, the highest peak in the Nilgiri Mountains with breathtaking views. After lunch, explore the Tea Museum, a fascinating museum showcasing the history and process of tea-making. In the evening, take a ride on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site train ride through the picturesque Nilgiri Mountains.

  5. Day 5: Ooty
    30 minutes (17 km) from Ooty

    Visit the Pykara Waterfalls, a picturesque waterfall with a boathouse. After lunch, explore the Emerald Lake, a serene lake surrounded by green hills. In the evening, take a stroll around the Rose Garden, a beautiful garden with a variety of roses.

Recommendations

If you're looking for more nature experiences, consider visiting the Mukurthi National Park or the Mudumalai National Park. Both are located within driving distance from Ooty.
