4-Day Itinerary for Gangtok in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Tashi View Point
    15 minutes (4.3 km) from city center

    In the morning, head to Tashi View Point to catch a glimpse of the stunning Kanchenjunga mountain range. After admiring the views, head to Enchey Monastery, a 200-year-old monastery that offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere. For lunch, stop at Roll House, a local restaurant serving delicious momos and thukpa. In the afternoon, visit Banjhakri Falls, a picturesque waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.   2. Day 2: Rumtek Monastery

  3. Day 3: Tsomgo Lake

    Today, take a day trip to Tsomgo Lake, a stunning glacial lake located at an altitude of 12,400 feet. On the way, stop at Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary, a protected area that offers beautiful mountain views and alpine vegetation. At the lake, you can take a yak ride or simply admire the stunning views.   4. Day 4: Nathula Pass
    2 hours 30 minutes (55 km) from city center

    On the last day of your trip, take a trip to Nathula Pass, a mountain pass on the border between India and China. On the way, stop at Tsuk La Khang Monastery, a 400-year-old monastery that houses some of the oldest and rarest Buddhist scriptures. At Nathula Pass, you can enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayas and the Indo-China border. For lunch, stop at a local restaurant serving delicious Tibetan food. On the way back, visit the Himalayan Zoological Park, a wildlife park that houses several endangered species. End the day with a visit to the Sikkim Himalayan Cultural Museum to learn about the history and culture of the region.
