4-Day Itinerary for Ujjain in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Mahakaleshwar Temple
    10 minutes (3.2 km) from Ujjain Junction Railway Station

    Start your day by visiting one of the 12 Jyotirlinga, Mahakaleshwar Temple which is considered to be one of the most powerful Shiva temples in India. In the morning, the temple is less crowded, and you can attend the Bhasma Aarti which is performed daily at 4 AM. After a soulful experience, you can grab Ujjaini breakfast at any nearby restaurant. In the afternoon, you can visit Harsiddhi Temple, which is another famous temple dedicated to Goddess Annapurna. In the evening, explore the local markets and try famous sweets like Gajak and Namkeen.

  2. Day 2: Kal Bhairav Temple and Sandipani Ashram
    15 minutes (4.5 km) from Mahakaleshwar Temple

    On the second day, start your day by visiting Kal Bhairav Temple, which is dedicated to one of the forms of Lord Shiva. This temple is famous for its unique rituals and offerings, and you can witness the same in the morning.   4. Day 4: Kshipra River and ISKCON Temple

    On the last day, start your day by taking a dip in the holy river of Kshipra, which is considered to be one of the most sacred rivers in India. After that, you can visit ISKCON Temple, which is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha. In the afternoon, you can try local delicacies like Malpua and Rabdi. In the evening, you can visit Mangalnath Temple and enjoy the scenic beauty of the city from the top.
