2-Day Shoestring Budget Itinerary: Darmastala and Kukke Subramanya

  1. Day 1: Darmastala
    1 hour 45 minutes (75 miles) from Mangalore International Airport

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to the Manjunatha Temple, one of the most famous temples in Darmastala. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be more than 800 years old. Don't miss the Annadana Hall, where free meals are served to all devotees.

    Morning: Start your day with a visit to the Kukke Subramanya Temple, dedicated to Lord Subramanya. The temple is located in the Western Ghats and is surrounded by lush greenery. Don't miss the Sarpa Samskara Pooja, a unique ritual performed to appease the serpent god.

    Afternoon: Take a 30-minute drive to the Adi Subrahmanya Temple, located on the banks of the Kumaradhara River. The temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya's elder brother, Lord Ganesha.

    Evening: End your day with a trek to Kumaraparvatha, the second-highest peak in Karnataka. The trek is a challenging one but offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
