Sakhleshpur Relaxation Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Manjarabad Fort
    20 minutes (6.5 miles) from Sakhleshpur Town

    Start your day by visiting the Manjarabad Fort, a star-shaped fort that was built by Tipu Sultan in the 18th century. The fort is surrounded by lush greenery and is a great place for a morning walk. Spend some time exploring the fort and marvel at its architectural beauty. For lunch, head to Sip and Dip, a restaurant nearby, and relish the local cuisine. Spend the afternoon at the Jenukal Gudda peak, which is the second-highest peak in Karnataka. The drive to the peak is scenic, and you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. As the sun sets, head to the Hemavathi Backwaters and enjoy a peaceful evening by the water.

  2. Day 2: Bisle View Point
    1 hour 20 minutes (37 miles) from Hemavathi Backwaters

    Start your day early and head to the Bisle View Point, which is located in the Bisle Reserve Forest. The drive to the viewpoint is scenic, and you will see plenty of coffee plantations en route. From the viewpoint, you can see the Pushpagiri, Dodda Betta and Kumara Parvatha mountain ranges. For lunch, head to the nearby Hotel Surabhi, which is known for its delicious biryani. Spend the afternoon at the Manjehalli Waterfalls, which is a picturesque waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. Take a dip in the cool waters and relax. In the evening, enjoy a cup of coffee at one of the many cafes in Sakhleshpur before heading back to your hotel.

Don't miss out on visiting the Sakleshwara Temple, which is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. If you have more time, head to the Green Route trek, which is a 22 km trek that passes through 58 tunnels and 109 bridges.
